2025 – A Year In Review

Hello Friends and Fans,

2025 has been a year of global strife, war and struggle.  I’m not going to focus this post on that because I’d like to focus on what makes me happy: Music.

Our Container Arrives

As you may or may not know in December 2024 the decision was made to relocate back to Canada after living in Berlin Germany for 7 years . Where have we relocated to? We (Don & I) decided to move to Nova Scotia.   Why Nova Scotia?  We have family here. Plus, I grew up in Winnipeg, lived in Vancouver for 14 years and I have always wanted to live in the Maritimes.  I have always seen Canada’s east coast as a creatively inspirational place and I think this will be a great place to foster a new chapter in my creative story.

Relocating to a fresh & new place is never an easy task because it’s the process of starting over.  Even though we have family and a couple of friends living here my mission is to introduce myself, as an artist and performer, to a fresh new group of people.

I am so glad the Province of Nova Scotia LOVES live music and I must say it was not difficult to find open stages in Halifax and smaller towns/communities outside the city in an area called the South Shore. By using my secret formula which is: Open Stage + Original Material = Live Gigs.

By using this formula I am happy to report I have been hired through all of 2025 by multiple venues like: King Street Beer Co, Saltbox Shining Waters, Scotia Curry, Mateus and White Point Beach resort to entertain their patrons.I must say I prefer getting paid gigs in Nova Scotia over “passing the hat” in Berlin.

At The Roxy

Montreal

2025 is also the year I felt I should take time off of my solo project and focus on the MT805 project.  MT805 has been in theworks with Matthew Presidente since 2022. Our first two singles “This is MT805” and “Fire and Ice” were mixed, mastered and ready to release.  We (MT805) celebrate the release by hosting the Launch Party at Vancouver’s very own Roxy Cabaret on August 1st, 2025.  The show was a blast and we had a fabulous audience!   In September I was more than happy to join Matthew Presidente on stage at Montreal’s Turbo Haüs where we also teased the audience by performing MT805’s next release (Escape).   On a side note: when Quebecers say one of their main seasons of the year is called “road construction” believe them.

You may be asking; “What’s going to happen in 2026?”.  In the winter and spring I will be refocusing on my solo work as well as MT805.  I have been applying to multiple Canadian music festivals.  MT805 is also applying for Canadian music festivals and we are planning a tour of Eastern Canada.  I also have another secret alter ego side-project in the works (more about his will be coming). (Hint: Think Siouxsie Siuox meets Covenant)

I see a lot of creativity in the works for 2026.  And like they say in that wonderful Canadian comedy show called “Letterkenny”; “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life,”.

Thank you for coming on this journey with me and I hope you all have a wonderful start to the year 2026!

Cheers!
